Eastwood: Tories cannot be trusted with NHS

SDLP Foyle Westminster candidate Colum Eastwood said that the only way to protect our health service from private sector profiteers is to elect MPs who will vote against it.

Said the SDLP leader: “We know that Donald Trump’s administration wants access to our health service for US pharmaceutical companies.

“Documents produced this week reveal that big pharmaceutical companies want total market access as a baseline for a trade deal.

“That is a disgrace.

“Our NHS should never, ever be up for sale.

“And despite Boris Johnston’s promises – the SDLP simply does not believe him.

“If our health services were truly off the table, as Johnson has suggested, then why are they forming a part of the preparatory discussions between negotiating teams?

“The truth is that no one can trust Boris Johnson.

“The only way to avoid the wholesale sell off of our health service is to vote for MPs who you can trust to vote against it at Westminster.

“SDLP MPs will vote to stop Boris Johnson and stop the privatisation of our NHS,” added Mr Eastwood.
