He was speaking after leaked British ministerial advice warned that post-Brexit trade agreements could ‘irreparably damage’ environment and public health,
Said Councillor Fleming: “This report from the British Department for Trade is yet another example of the chaos and disfunction of the British government is inflicting on the people of the north and Ireland as a whole.
“It is further proof that Brexit is bad for our farmers, our food safety, our families, and our environment.
“Sinn Fein will continue to work with political reps in the USA to ensure that any future trade deal that is bad for Ireland and does not respect the Good Friday Agreement is opposed in Congress.”
