SDLP’s Shauna Cusack calls for caution over suspicious callers

SDLP Foyleside Councillor Shauna Cusack has called for the community to be cautious with suspicious activity around the Academy Road area.

Said Cllr Cusack: “I’ve been informed that a man is calling on doors in the DeBurgh Square, Stewart’s Terrace area off Academy Road enquiring about dogs.

“The Community Safety Wardens were called by one lady who was concerned that this caller seemed suspicious and the lady was quite anxious.

“While it has not been ascertained if this individual was genuine or not I would remind people to always be extra cautious.

“Do not let any unidentified or unauthorised people into your home.

“Always ask for ID and look out for elderly or vulnerable family members and neighbours.

“The Wardens have asked that this information be circulated in the interests of community safety and if anyone has any information please get in touch,‘’ she added.
