BUSINESSES and stakeholders in Strabane are being encouraged to take part in a Business Plan Mid-Term Evaluation of the Strabane BID project, taking place at 6pm on Tuesday, 02 July at Strabane Community Library, Railway Street.
The purpose of the workshop is to evaluate progress to date and to plan for the next two years of the BID.
Encouraging businesses to get involved, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Michaela Boyle said it was important that those involved in BID get an opportunity to give feedback on the project and help identify the key priorities for the project going forward.
She said: “Next Tuesday’s mid-term evaluation workshop is the perfect opportunity for businesses to have their say on the Strabane BID project.
“Not only will they be able to share their experiences of the impact BID has had on their business but they will be able to feed into developing the future plans for the project.”
Catherine Collins is the Strabane BID project manager who was involved in securing BID for Strabane in April 2016.
Following that success, the BID team created an ambitious plan to deliver on three key themes: Marketing and Promotion, Access and Experience and Business Support and Cost Reductions for Local Businesses.
In November 2016, the BID Board was formally set up and the project launched and they have met regularly to deliver on the objectives set out in the Strabane BID Business plan, which were overwhelmingly endorsed by the Strabane Business community.
She says she hopes Tuesday’s workshop will assist in looking at the successes of the BID to date and identifying key priorities moving it forward.
