Two women wanted on bench warrants arrested by police in Derry

POLICE in Derry have arrested two women who have been wanted on bench warrants.

An officer writing on PSNI Foyle’s Facebook page: “Ballyarnett Npt 👮 were busy conducting a number of vehicle check points 🚘 and patrolling our neighbourhood area last night.

“By and large it was fairly peaceful in Galliagh, Shantallow and Carnhill.

“We did however have reason to arrest 🙈 two ladies in respect of outstanding Bench Warrants.

“The first had been evading police since 2014, but to be fair she has spent a large amount of this time outside of our jurisdiction.

“The second arrest had a hint of Thelma and Louise about it.

“Two ladies driving 🚗 about in their PJ’S trying to decide whether to have a Raymond’s, Beef Satay or McDonald’s 🍟.

“Thankfully when we put on the blue lights they didn’t make for the border.

“The false name Thelma provided did not save her and she will now have to make do with a cereal bar and nicorette gum at Hotel Strand Road.

“Bench Warrants issued by the court do not disappear.

“If you have one it would be in your interest to address it with your solicitor asap. Don’t blame us if you have to go to court in your jammies and without makeup 😗.

“Alternatively, we could come knocking with the big red key.”
