12-year-old boy charged with rioting in Derry

POLICE investigating violent disorder in the Moss Park area of Derry on Thursday, May 23, have charged a 12 year old boy with possessing article with intent to damage property and riotous behaviour.

He is due to appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 18.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

Two 16 year old males arrested in connection with the disorder have been released on bail pending further police enquiries.

Police said they had been lured to the area and then came under attack with five petrol bombs.
