POLICE in Derry are warning motorists to ensure their vehicles are legal before getting behind the wheel.
On Tuesday, police along with the Drive Vehicle Licensing Agency carried out an operation against illegal and dangerous vehicles using public roads in the city.
PSNI Foyle say on its Facebook page that before starting a journey all motorists must make sure the vehicle is legal for the roads.
“This includes ensuring your vehicle is taxed.
“Waterside NPT were working in partnership with DVLA yesterday ensuring motorists are on the road legally.
“A total of 25 Vehicles were clamped.
“Seven tickets issued and other motoring offences were detected including motorists driving with no insurance and no valid MOT certificate.”
