CHANNEL 4’s hit comedy series Derry Girls will be available to stream on Netflix from next month.

Netflix users in the UK and Ireland will be able to stream the award-winning first season of Derry Girls from May 8, 2019.

Lisa McGee’s nostalgic series depicts the lives of a group of teenagers growing up in her home city in the 1990s amid the back drop of the Troubles.

The hit series became a worldwide phenomenon in December when it made its debut on the American version of the streaming platform.

Channel Four confirmed Derry Girls will return for a third series as the second series bowed out in emphatic style.

Following its launch at the start of 2018, it became Channel 4’s highest-rated comedy for over a decade.

The comedy has already won a number of coveted awards.

On Sunday, May 12, all eyes will be on the BAFTA Awards where Derry Girls is nominated in the Best Scripted Comedy category.
