Cusack happy to see further Hatfield Improvements

SDLP Foyleside Councillor Shauna Cusack says she is happy to report that the visibility and safety improvements she recently discussed with the Hatfield landlords are now on their final stage.

Said Cllr Cusack states: “This extremely busy shopping facility just off the Creggan Road services thousands of constituents daily.

“This popularity has, over time, taken its toll on the road markings and the general condition of the car park area. Users found the entrance turning too tight and lacking space as well the area needing additional disability access features.

“I’m delighted that both the entrance has been expanded which is encouraging more people to follow the one way system and improved disability ramps have been installed.

“The line painting is now currently underway which means there’s no excuse for anyone abusing disabled parking spots or parking on the zebra crossing.

“I would like to thank the landlords for delivering on their promise we’ll ahead of time and I’m sure customers like myself will appreciate these safety improvements.’’
