SINN Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has congratulated Derry man Connor Coyle after defeating Travis Scott at the Coliseum in Saint Petersburg, Florida on Saturday night.
Coyle won on points in his eight round bout giving him an undefeated record of nine wins in nine fights.
Sandra Duffy is also secretary of St Joseph’s ABC based in the Galliagh area of the city.
She said: “This is another great achievement by Connor on the world stage.
“Connor is an inspiration to many young boxers in Derry and across Ireland.
“Boxing is a big sport in this city and there are many people who work away behind the scenes to provide a positive outlet for our young people.”
