The Glenshane Pass this evening after snowfall

POLICE are warning drivers across the North West to take extra care on the roads this evening as a blanket of snow covers roads.

The Glenshane Pass has been covered with snow but police advise it is passable with care.

A spokesperson said: “Motorists are advised to reduce their speed and exercise caution when driving due to the adverse weather conditions.

“Make sure to drive considerately, wear your seatbelt and check brakes before making any necessary journey.

“Please don’t travel if you don’t have to.”

Snow ploughts out on the Broad Road between Limiavady and Coleraine

Police are advising that due to the adverse conditions, a lorry has become stuck on the Mountain road between Limavady and Coleraine.

As a result, the road is currently closed.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route

The Windyhill Road, A37 Broad Road/Dunhill Road have been closed between Limavady and Coleraine.

Police are also advising of challenging driving conditions on Craigmore Rd between Limavady and Ringsend.

The A2 Sea Coast Road is open.
