THE PSNI in Derry said detectives and forensic scientists have now completed their examination of the bomb site in Bishop Street.

The hijacked vehicle used to transport the device on Saturday night has now been removed for further detailed forensic examination.

PSNI Foyle say: 2We are pleased to confirm that investigators have completed the examination of the scene at Bishops Street.

“The area has now been reopened.

“A sincere word of thanks for the patience of all those impacted.”

All residents in the area have now been allowed to return to their homes.

And businesses affected by the street closure can now trade again.

Five men arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act remain in the serious crime custody suite at Musgrave PSNI station.

Four men were arrested in Derry on Sunday while a 50 year old man was arrested earlier today.

He is also being questioned about the robbery of a substantial amount of cash from a van driver at Meadowbank Avenue last Tuesday in the city.
