THE Western Trust says the Children’s Ward at Altnagelvin Hospital was delighted today to receive a very thoughtful donation of three Glideaway Beds.

The beds are for parents of children who are unwell and are inpatients on the ward.

The presentation was made by Deirdre Cassidy and Lisa Storey from the Children’s Ward Parents Support Group.

Said a Trust spokesperson: “Two of the beds were donated by the group itself and the third was sponsored by MOB (Mates On Bikes).

“Each bed is worth approximately £900 and the parents support group continue to encourage donations and sponsorship so that more beds can be purchased.

Pictured receiving the kind donation on behalf of the Children’s Ward are Cathy Grady, Karen Young, Nicola McMonagle, Grainne McKeever and Hazel Gallo.

Also in the picture is baby Idá Storey (Lisa’s baby daughter)
