Requiem Mass to take place today for murdered Edward Meenan

Murder victim Edward Meenan to be laid to rest today following Requiem Mass in Derry

THE funeral will take place this morning, Saturday, December 8, of murdered Derry man Edward Meenan.

The 52-year-old’s body was found in an alleyway off Creggan Street in the Bogside in the early hours of Sunday, November 25.

Poilce said the father-of-nine had sustained significant injuries to his head and body.

Mr Meenan’s remains will leave his mother’s house at the Little Diamond for Requiem Mass in St Eugene’s Cathedral at 12.30 pm.

Three people have to date appeared in court charged with his murder.

All were remanded in custody.

They will appear at Derry Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, December 20 via videolink from prison.
