Sinn Fein representative Neil McLaughlin

SINN Féin Shantallow representative Neil McLaughlin has urged parents to know the whereabouts of their children.

It follows a number of stone throwing incidents on vehicles at the Glengalliagh Road recently.

He said: “I have been contacted by a number of motorists after stone throwing incidents along the Glengalliagh Road.

“Stones have been thrown at passing cars. It was a very frightening experience for everyone caught up in this.

“Apart from the damage to the vehicles we are only a split second away from a tragedy if a driver or passenger is hit with a missile.

“I would urge parents to warn their children of the dangers of getting caught up in these anti community incidents,” he added.
