Felix was struck by a car in Derry last night

POLICE in Derry are appealing for the public’s help in tracing the owner of this injured cat.

‘Felix’ was struck by a car last night and is currently being tended to at a local vet practice.

PSNI Foyle say: “This is a bit of an unusual appeal for us but last night while on patrol Waterside CNPT were flagged down by members of the public at the Crescent Link about a cat that had been run over and injured at the traffic lights.

“We tried to find the owners but the cat does not have a collar and is not chipped. He’s clearly looked after and is neutered.

“We’ve called him Felix for now.

“Police took Felix to the vet and he is currently there recovering.

“If you recognise the photo and know who the owners are, please contact 101 and quote incident reference number 1257 of 18/09/18.”

I just want to thank the members of the public who flagged us down. I know for some people this is just a cat but the little guy was suffering and it’s great to see people’s compassion extend that far.
