Outrage after man shot in legs in Derry

Sinn Fein Councillor Kevin Campbell has condemned last night’s shooting in Creggan

DETECTIVES are investigating after a man in his 20s was shot in the legs in Derry last night.

The brutal attack in Creggan’s Oakland Park area.

Local Sinn Féin Councillor Kevin Campbell has condemned the incident.

“A young man has been shot in the legs at Oakland Park in Creggan.

“I utterly condemn this attack.

“These actions should stop immediately and those responsible should pack up and get off the backs of the community.

“Anyone with information on this shooting should bring it forward to the police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Strand Road on the 101 number.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
