Police seize alcohol and drugs during anti-social behaviour patrols at Collon Lane

NEIGHBOURHOOD cops in Derry have seized alcohol and drugs during beat patrols in the city.

Officer from Ballyarnett NPT said the patrols were response to complaints from residents about ongoing anti-social behaviour in the Collon Lane area of the city.

In a posting on PSNI Foyle’s Facebook page, an officer wrote: “Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

“Again we have detected crime and ASB along the Collon Lane. This is despite the fact that we have informed you (various times) that as a Neighbourhood Team we are actively patrolling the area.

“We seized a Bong, herbal cannabis and cannabis resin bought with the owners birthday money.

“Take this as a friendly tip. Don’t celebrate your birthday on the Collon Lane unless you want to celebrate with Ballyarnett Npt. We will happily share your cake if you really want us to come to the party.

“We also seized a boost bottle full of alcohol from a potty mouthed lady.

“Again it’s not the most discreet place at the minute with Ballyarnett Npt on foot, cycle and vehicle patrol. Don’t be surprised when we seize your alcohol especially if you are surrounded by juveniles.

“On top of this a missing youth was located hanging out along the lane. Again, he was not happy 🙁 but we did warn you.

“I know we shouldn’t but we are giving you the heads up!!!

“You have asked us to help and therefore we will continue to make the lane as safe as possible for those who want to enjoy the area responsibly.”
