McGinley condemns vandalism at new housing development on Springtown Road

Sinn Fein councillor Eric McGinley

SINN Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has called for an end to the vandalism being wreaked on the new housing development on Springtown Road.

Windows on properties under construction have been smashed in recent days.

Said Cllr McGinley: “The construction of over 50 high quality houses is well under way on the Springtown Road and will provide much needed social accommodation for those on the homeless and transfer lists.

“Unfortunately the site has been the subject of a number of acts of vandalism with windows to the front of the site being particularly targeted.

“This only adds to the expense of the project and potentially delays the handover of homes to those who will be allocated the properties.

“I would call on those responsible to bring this vandalism to a halt and I would also appeal to parents to ensure that their children keep away from the development site.”
