Police deployed stinger device to try and stop white Combo van in Derry

POLICE on both sides of the border are on the look out for a van which almost knocked down a PSNI office during a cross-border chase.

PSNI Foyle say that over the weekend Ballyarnett Neighbourhood tried to stop a white Vauxhall Combo van, registration number PEZ 5703.

A police spokesperson said: “The vehicle fled over the border.

“The Garda chased it back into the North along Coshquin Road.

“PSNI officers up a check point and put a stinger across the road.

“The van mounted the verge at speed and narrowly missed knocking a police officer down.

“This van has to stop somewhere.

“When you see it let us know.”

If you see the van, ring police on the 101 number or use Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.
