SELF-TANNING brand, bBold, doubled its sales in the Republic of Ireland last year.

The Co Derry based company is working with Invest Northern Ireland to implement measures that will help build on this momentum.

Now the Draperstown-based business is recruiting 10 additional staff as part of efforts to drive greater awareness of the brand in the UK retail sector.

As well as supporting these new jobs, we facilitated the placement of an Interim Manager to help bBold make improvements to its warehouse and IT systems and implement a digital strategy to increase online orders.

Catherine O’Connell, Managing Director of bBold, said: “We want to build on the success that our bBold self-tan product has achieved in the Irish Pharmacy market.

“With Invest NI’s assistance we are progressing a recruitment drive and implementing a sales and marketing strategy that will help accelerate the growth of the business.

“Our ambition is to secure full listings throughout the UK so we need to recruit additional sales, marketing and distribution staff to cope with this anticipated demand.

“Exhibiting at the Irish Cosmetic Association tradeshow last week was a valuable opportunity to build brand awareness and connect with potential new customers.”

Grainne McVeigh, Invest NI’s Director of Life Sciences, added: “The global self-tan industry is highly competitive but with lucrative market opportunities. We are pleased to be helping bBold implement measures to scale the brand and extend its reach into Great Britain.”

Invest NI has offered bBold £70,000 toward the recruitment of 10 new jobs, seven of which are already in place.

The company is also using trade support to attend the Irish Cosmetic Association tradeshow in May.
