TIME is ticking for traders hoping to be a part of this year’s Foyle Maritime Festival.

The deadline for applications is this Thursday, May 17 at 4 pm.

The Foyle Maritime Festival will take place from Saturday 14 July until Sunday 22 July 2018 with anticipated audiences of up to 6,000 people per day.

The event is run by Derry City and Strabane District Council and will feature the Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race as part of its international programme of events.

Louise Breslin, Business Development Manager with Derry City and Strabane District Council said:

“We welcome applications from individuals and businesses located within the DCSDC area or regular (existing or reserve) monthly Walled City and Strabane Market traders interested in trading at the Maritime Market.

“Our aim is to select a vibrant mix of traders to add to the festive theme of ‘Voyages’ and to enhance the shopping experience of visitors to the City.

“In the lead up to the festival, primarily, we want to attract traders who sell food and non-food goods not normally associated with more conventional retail / shopping outlets.

“There can be no sub-letting of space however applications are welcome from exhibitors who wish to share a trade stand with another trader.

“If this is the case, a joint application must be submitted.”

This award winning festival will be the largest event of its kind to take place in Ireland this year when the 1.5 mile long site opens up to deliver an extensive range of family friendly entertainment, animation and keynote events both on and off the water for nine days.

Traders specialising in ice cream sold from a mobile unit (van / cart / trailer) have a separate application process which can also be found on the website.
