The graffiti sprayed on the Clooney Road in Derry this week

UNIONISTS in Derry have reacted with anger over sectarian graffiti which has appeared on the main road leading into the city.

The graffiti appeared on the A2 Clooney Road in the Waterside this week.

The DUP says its been inundated with complaints about the spray painted slogans.

Councillor Graham Warke told Q Radio News the words were intended to intimidate.

He said: “This is a total disgrace.

“It is more or less trying to intimidate Protestants in the city. and it is not going to happen.

“We have called on the Department for Infrastructure to get this graffiti removed from the roads.

“A number of people have contacted the DUP office over the past number of weeks about this graffiti,” he added.
