First sod cut for new pitches at Top of the Hill

MAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council Maoliosa McHugh help cut the first sod on new pitches in Derry yesterday.

He said: “I was delighted to perform the turning of the sod for the works at the new sports pitches in the Top of the Hill area of the city.

“The work continues Council’s commitment in the Strategic Growth Plan to deliver an extensive programme of capital and playing pitch development.”

“Turf cutting ceremony in top of the hill.

“The beginning of a new era for our club!”
