‘Prolific’ teenager jailed over shoplifting, fireworks and assault charges

POLICE say another ‘prolific offender’ has been jailed over a number offences during two separate incidents in the city.

PSNI Foyle say on its Facebook page: “More good news!

“Another priority offender from the Derry City and Strabane DCU was sentenced at Derry Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

“The 18 year old was sentenced for 2 incidents which included shoplifting, fireworks offences and assault.

“He will be spending some time in custody for his efforts.

“The Reducing Offending Unit based at Strand Road continue to work with statutory agencies and members of the public to reduce crime and re-offending by priority prolific offenders in the Derry City and Strabane area.”
