POLICE recovered a quantity of illegal drugs in Derry yesterday.

The stash of Class A and Class B drugs were located following a tip off from a hawk-eyed member of the public.

PSNI Foyle say on its Facebook page: “Foyleside and the Moor Neighbourhood Policing Team were contacted today (Tuesday) by a member of the public.

“They had discovered an amount of what we believe to be controlled drugs of assorted types, including suspected class “A and class B.

“These items have now been sent for destruction.

“It goes without saying that these items could have a catastrophic even lethal effect on any unsuspecting person, who may decide to sample them.

“If you do locate any suspicious items, please contact Police immediately on the 101 number.”
