ANNUAL BLOODY SUNDAY PARADE TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND

White crosses carried at last year’s Bloody Sunday parade to remember the 14 unarmed civilians shot dead by British Paratroopers in 1972

THE annual Bloody Sunday commemoration march will take place in the city on Sunday, January 28th.

Participants and bands will assemble from 2pm at Central Drive and proceed to Rossville Street.

The route will be via Central Drive, Linsfort Drive, Iniscarn Road, Rathlin Drive, Southway, Lone Moor Road, Brandywell Avenue, Lecky Road, Westland Street, Laburnum Terrace, Creggan Street and William Street.

Proceedings are due to conclude at about 5pm.

Police are advising motorists to allow extra time for their journeys, or seek alternative routes while the parade is taking place.
