SINN Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has encouraged as many shoppers as possible to call in and see Santa at the Guildhall over the next week as he tries to raise £10,000 for Children in Crossfire.

Martin Gallagher is doing the collection in memory of his son Christopher who tragically passed away in 2006 from Malaria.

Sandra Duffy said: “This is a fantastic charity that does so much for so many children across the world.

“And Santa, aka Martin Gallagher, does an amazing job every year bringing Christmas cheer to the Guildhall and Derry as he keeps his sons memory alive.

“This year he has set himself a massive challenge of raising £10,000.

“I would encourage anyone passing to call and say hello, bring the children & maybe get a selfie with the big man and make a donation to this worthy cause, big or small Santa will appreciate it.”
