Troll Inc founder Jimmy Murray hoping trade mission to Boston can bring it to a new level

DERRY based video game studio Troll Inc is one of 15 companies who will be showcasing the North West’s ‘entrepreneurship and innovation’ when they travel to Boston Massachusetts in mid-November as part of a joint collaboration between Councils in Derry/Strabane and Donegal.

The trip is part of the region’s strategy to promote inward investment and provide local businesses access to potential export opportunity.

Troll Inc is an Irish indie development studio focusing on fun games and apps for tablets and mobile devices as well as consoles and PCs.

Founded in 2010 by a group of game development graduates, they have released products on multiple markets including iOS, Android, Windows Store, Samsung Apps, Amazon and Facebook and received numerous awards including Best Overall Business in the Fast Forward Business Awards.

Among the games the company have released include Seagull Swipe, Star Troll, Jellyflug and Graffiti Grinder.

Speaking ahead of the Boston trade mission, Troll Inc CEO Jim Murray said:

“Since launching Troll Inc in 2010 we have developed multiple apps and released games worldwide.  Our games focus on fun and gameplay over everything else.

“They have been made by a small but professional team of developers and we can deliver high quality and fun games in a short time.

“We also have several new games in development to add to our existing portfolio and are currently looking to discuss financing and other partnerships with anyone who’d like to talk to us.

“We will be offering partnerships in the US as a tested and professional team of developers who have already gained significant industry experience.

“We’ve also got ambitious plans to bring the company to the next level – increasing our output and the scale of our games.

“Each of our new games will showcase a new and different experience for players – increasing value not only to our business but importantly our players.

“We would therefore be delighted if we can establish strong collaborative working relationships as a result of participating in the Boston trade mission.

“On our return to Derry, if we have any partnerships that can help us get where we need to be as a company then it will have been well worth the trip,” added Mr Murray.
