DERRY CITY RELAUNCHES DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

DERRY City Football Club is looking for new members for its development committee.

The Derry City Development Committee has been in operation since the 1962 season and has been the primary vehicle for fundraising for the club for many years.

Edgar Mc Cormack who is still a member has been involved since the first days of the committee. The late Charlie Mc Laughlin who sadly passed away in 2015 and who was chairman of the Programme Committee was also a member of this group

In the last ten decade the club has raised in the region of £400,000 for Derry City FC – vital finance that is required to ensure that the club remains competitive in the top tier of Irish football

Recent projects include the Europa League Draw which raised in excess of £6,000 for the club.

However the effectiveness of the Committee is limited by the numbers of volunteers and the group is seeking fresh blood and new ideas!

Any supporters with new ideas as regards to fundraising and other marketing opportunities for the club are warmly welcomed to contact Liam Hegarty on [email protected] to discuss ideas.

You can dedicate as much or as little time as you have available.

The plan is to collate the expressions of interest and set up a meeting to refresh the Committee going into the 2018 season.
