MAN JAILED AND BANNED AFTER POLICE NAB HIM IN STOLEN VAN

JUSTICE finally caught up with a criminal this week when he was jailed and banned from the roads after he was arrested by cops following a chase through Derry.

The suspect had been on the police radar for some time but managed to stay one step ahead of the law by taking to his heels.

But he ran out of road this week when police were finally able to catch up with him, cuff him and haul off to off to the courts for justice to be served up.

A police officer said on the PSNI Foyle’s Facebook page: “Usually here in Ballyarnett Neighbourhood Team we catch criminals and that’s all you hear, you don’t get to see the whole process or the outcome at Court ⚖️

“Well today was different! We had everything finished in 3 hours and it went like this:

“Our fella was the passenger in a wee work van Now, we’ve chased this fella before and he seems to be a relation of Usain Bolt ⚡️ because once he’s on foot we don’t have a chance! We therefore had one shot☝️

“The van went down Strand Road onto William Street before turning left onto Chamberlain Street. I had a split second choice: 1: fly up Waterloo Street and try to cut him off at the top of Harvey Street, or 2. Stay on the van

“I decided to stay on him and as luck ☘️ would have it they hadn’t seen us and happily pulled up on Chamberlain Street.

“This gave me the chance to fly up alongside it  so close that our fella couldn’t open his door. My colleague ran round the other side of the van and we had him trapped

“He started to climb through to the back of the van but realised he was Caught. We arrested him for Stealing a Car and No Insurance and took him to Hotel Strand Road.

“After interview he was Charged straight to Court where the Judge ‍⚖️immediately gave him 4 Weeks Jail time and Banned him from driving

“He’s now enjoying the comfort of Costa Del Maghaberry  #SpeedyJustice#NotSoFastTrappedInAVan #KeepingPeopleSafe
