DERRY CITY LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK IN CUP TIE AGAINST GALWAY

Derry City manager Kenny Shiels will looking for his team to get back to their old form and secure a win against Galway United this evening in the EA Sports Cup.

DERRY City are looking to get back to winning ways this evening in away game in the EAS Sports Cups.

The Candy Stripes to the Eamon Deacy Park to play Galway United (kick off 7.45pm).

Both sides will be looking to forget about recent League results tomorrow night as they seek to advance to the last 8 of the EA Sports Cup.

Shane Keegan’s Galway side have been battling towards the bottom of the Premier Division table, whereas City have slumped to a run of three defeats after the events of the last month.

The home boss has pointed to the fact that he will use the game to assist with the rehabilitation of Gavin Holohan and Kevin Devaney, and also look to see what players he can trial from the underage set up.

City boss Kenny Shiels has injury concerns over Lukas Schubert and Nicky Low, as well as the long term absentees such as Rory Patterson.

The Candystripes boss is certainly smarting from seeing his side slip to three consecutive defeats.

The losses all came in the wake of the sudden and untimely death of City’s Captain Courageous Ryan McBride who died four weeks ago yesterday at his home in Derry.

A break from the SSE Airtricity Premiership could be the ticket Derry needs to get a much needed win under their belt before this Saturday’s away league game to Sligo Rovers (April 22, kick off 7.45 pm).
