DISSIDENT GUNMEN STRIKE AGAIN IN DERRY AFTER MAN SHOT IN BOTH LEGS

DETECTIVES are investigating after a 48 year old man was injured in a dissident republican paramilitary style shooting in Derry last night.

Police say the gun attack happened in the Glenowen Park area shortly after 9 pm on Wednesday, March 29.

The victim was shot in both legs in a laneway off Glenowen Park.

He was taken to the accident and emergency department at Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment.

Detective have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on the 101 number.

Or, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Last night’s shooting is the second in a few days.

On Monday evening, a 23 year old man was shot inside a bookmakers shop in the Creggan estate.
