Four suspects held at Strand Road over car crime incidents in Derry

PSNI Foyle are seeking witnesses to car crime incidents in Derry this week.

Police say four people are currently in custody at Strand Road after they were detained following a “busy night stealing vehicles in the Waterside”.

A police post on Facebook states: ” 4 persons are currently checked in to hotel Strand Road after a busy night stealing vehicles in the Waterside.

“At around 4am Officers located the rascals with help of a local taxi driver on the Foyle Road after pushing a vehicle stolen from the Chapel Road area across the Craigavon bridge.

“It’s unlikely that they will be appearing on the next episode of World’s Strongest Man any time soon

“We are also looking for witnesses who may have seen 4 persons who jumped into a white Peugeot panel van outside Spiceland on Distillery Brae at approx 8pm, which was found a short time later on Glassagh Road burnt out.”

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to ring police at Strand Road on the 101 non-emergency number.
