CANCER SUPPORT GROUPS HOSTING COFFEE MORNING IN MEMORY OF SORCHA GLENN

The late Sorcha Glenn who died of ovarian cancer at the age of 23

TEAM Sorcha and The Pink Ladies cancer support groups have joined forces to host a coffee morning in Derry for cervical cancer awareness.

The event will be dedicated to the memory of a beautiful young Derry girl, Sorcha Glenn, who was taken from her family and friends by the ravages of cervical cancer and died aged just 23.

Sorcha had initially been refused a smear test as she was not over the 25-year-old threshold for testing.

Her family now campaign for testing on demand for women of all ages in a bid to give women of all ages the chance to beat cancer at an early stage and not before it is too late.

Information about cervical cancer will be shared at the informal coffee morning and refreshments will be served.

The coffee morning will be held at the Maldron Hotel on Friday, January 27, between 11am and 1pm.

Donations can be made on the door to Derry cancer charity, Jamie’s Journie.

Team Sorcha have also created Twibbon in memory of Sorcha as January is Cancer Awareness Month.

All you have to do to is it type in twibbon.com, follow the link and add a teal ribbon to your profile picture for the month of January to raise awareness of cervical cancer.

Please share this post far and wide!
