choral-festivalMAYOR of Derry City and Strabane District Council Hilary McClintock has extended a warm welcome to the over 60 local, national and international choirs who are in town this week for the City of Derry International Choral Festival.

The festival runs from Wednesday October 19th until Saturday October 22nd, beginning with an Opening Gala Concert in the Guildhall at 7.30 pm.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to welcome all the musicians who are performing and competing at the International Choral Festival, particularly the six international choirs on the programme,” she said.

“The city has a long tradition of choirs and singing and it is an event that has thrilled the public since it was first hosted four years ago.

“There is a packed and varied schedule of events on offer over the four days so whether you’re a choral enthusiast, or simply a lover of music, there is something to cater for all tastes.”

Tickets for any of the events are available at www.milleniumform.co.uk and a full programme is online atwww.codichoral.com.
