SINN Féin Councillor Colly Kelly has wished the organisers of the Irish Power Lifting championships well as the organisation brings it to Derry for the first time.
The championship takes places tomorrow, Saturday, September 3, in The Maldron Hotel, Butcher Street, Derry.
This event is open to both male and female and starts at 10 am.
Councillor Kelly said: “I would like to wish the Irish Power Lifting Organisation and competitors all the best as they bring this competition to Derry for the first time.
“It’s good to see such competitions coming to Derry and will hopefully encourage more sporting organisations to come and use our city for hosting events.
“We have seen that events large and small can have a positive impact on the local hospitality sector,” he added.
