Scorch damage to the front of Dove House resource centre in the Bogside

THE people of the Bogside are being urged to com out this afternoon and stand shoulder to shoulder with them against those targeting Dove House resource centre.

The centre was targeted last night by arsonists who hurled petrol bombs at the building cause damage.

Fire crews were called to put out the fire.

It was the second time in 48 hours that arsonists had attacked the building with petrol bombs.

In a statement on its Facebook page, Dove House Meenan say: “In light of the recent attacks on Dove House we are calling for the community to come together and stand with us today and show those responsible for the attacks that this is not wanted.

“Today outside Dove House is your chance to show us that you support the hard work that we do for the betterment of the entire community.

“We are calling on residents, community groups and community representatives to show their support for us today.

“3 o’clock today – outside Dove House.”

There has been an ongoing campaign by elements in the Bogside to attack Dove House.

Recently the building was hit in a paint bomb attack.
