details have been announced for the much loved and much admired musician Stephen ‘Stevie’ Martin.

The singer – who used the stage name of ‘Rainy Boy Sleep’ – disappeared four weeks ago and police in Derry announced an appeal on behalf of his family for help in tracing the 29-year-old.

Stevie – who was from Lifford, Co Donegal – had been residing in Derry and once worked as a check out operator at Tesco’s in Limavady.

His car was found last week in the pier carpark at Fanad Lighthouse sparking a land, air and sea search.

Tragically, the search was called off when his remains were found on a beach in Co Sligo at the weekend, much to the sadness of his family, friends and all who knew him in the music world.

A death insertion has now placed giving details of Stevie’s funeral.

It reads: “His remains will repose at his mother Marina Martin’s residence, 24 Hazelwood Drive, Lifford from 6pm on Wednesday evening August 17th.

“Funeral from there on Friday morning August 19th at 10am, for 11 o clock funeral service at the Derry/Donegal Christian Fellowship, 9 Northland Road, Derry BT48 7HY with cremation afterwards in Lakeland Crematorium, Co Cavan.

“Family only please at the cremation.

“No flowers please, donations if desired to Hope Outreach Charity and the RNLI Donegal c/o Shaun Kelly and Son Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe.”
