SINN Féin councillor Colly Kelly  has slammed vandals who sprayed graffiti along a section of Derry Walls overlooking Fahan Street.

A group of three to four teenagers were involved in the incident on Wednesday night around 6 pm

Sinn Féin Councillor Kelly said: “Local people angered at this vandalism contacted me to put out an appeal for this nonsense to stop.

“A group of young people were drinking the top of the Fahan Street steps ,three or four of them spray canned a section of the Derry walls in graffiti “UTH” up the hoods and other stuff .

“This section of the Walls had just been recently cleaned up.

“The Walls are internationally known and people flock from all corners of the world to see them.

“It does not enhance the reputation of Derry as a tourist destination with people attacking a tourist asset,” he added.
