THE forecast is looking bright for family bread baker Brennans after signing to a new deal to become the official sponsor of the weather on popular local radio station Downtown.

Brennans is one of the biggest bread brands in Northern Ireland and with its distinctive sunshine-coloured yellow packaging, is the perfect weather partner for the Newtownards-based radio station which entertains around 217,000 listeners per week and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Ivan Hammond, Head of Marketing at Brennans Bread, believes that the sky is the limit for the much loved bread brand in the North of Ireland.

“We all know how unpredictable the weather can be here in Northern Ireland,” said Mr Hammond, “but one thing that listeners can rely on is the fresh, quality taste of Brennans Bread!

“Brennans is synonymous with freshness and quality and we believe that our new role as Downtown’s weather sponsor will give fresh impetus to the brand in Northern Ireland.

“As well as listening out for us on the radio, we would also encourage everyone to keep a look out for the brightly-coloured Brennans buses which can be spotted on various routes around Belfast and Derry.

“They’re certainly hard to miss – and sure to put you in the mood for a sandwich!” he added.

Richard Ross, Commercial Manager at Downtown Radio, said of the new sponsorship:  “I am very excited to welcome Brennans on board as our new weather sponsor as we know the brand is hugely popular throughout the whole of Northern Ireland.

“Hopefully, the weather here will be as bright as those famous Brennans loaves of bread over the coming spring and summer months,” added Richard.

The Brennan bread brand offers customers over 25 different variations of bread from the famous Family Pan to the delicious Wheaten Brown Bread.

The Be Good range, which offers a premium lifestyle bread high in fibre and only 60 calories per slice, is very popular with customers looking to reduce their calorie intake without compromising on taste.
