SINN Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed confirmation from the Univeristy of Ulster Magee that they have started work  to install a permanent perimeter fence on lands at the  Dungreggan Road site and Dunvale Park.

The University agreed to fund a permanent fence which will hopefully address many of the problems there and give residents an extra sense of security around their homes.

Councillor Cooper said “This is good news for the residents of Dunvale Park.

There have been ongoing issues there for some time with people using gaps in the fence as an access point right on their doorsteps which brought many problems.

“I am  glad that work has now started.”
