FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS AT OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH NEXT MONTH

Our Lady of Lourdes SteelstownTHORNHILL Ministries is celebrating the Year of Mercy by holding a Festival of Flowers entitled “Dry the Tears”, says Sister Perpetua McNulty.

The Festival will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown Road, Derry on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6th, 7th and 8th May 2016.

“Inspired by the Pope’s Jubilee of Consolation (being celebrated on 5 May), this unique festival – expressing in flowers the joys and challenges of life – will be uplifting and reflective in equal measure.

“The church building will be filled with colour and beauty as the flowers portray aspects of life where hope and consolation are offered to those in need.

“For anyone who has known the comfort of others, there will be a chance to write a few words of gratitude for kindness or support received.

“Flower arrangements are being created by members of the Londonderry  and District Floral Art Society, while others will be created by friends of Thornhill Ministries.

“Light refreshments available.  Donations towards flowers and work of Thornhill Ministries will be welcome,” added Sister Perpetua.
