SINN Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy has advised the public in Derry to be on the alert for daylight home heating oil bandits.
It follows the recent theft of heating oil from homes in the Ballyarnett area.
Cllr. Duffy said the most recent theft took place earlier this week in Oakbrige Park.
She asked residents to look out for any suspicious activity by people or vehicles capable of taking away oil.
“I would like to warn people to be on the lookout for the gangs behind this type of theft.
“The most recent oil theft in Oakbridge Park took place on Monday during the day,” she added.
