AN added time goal has given Meath a slender one point lead at half time ( (throw in 2 pm).
Danny Heavron had earlier finished brilliantly to give Derry a two point lead as half time approached.
But with two added minutes being played, Meath’s O’Sullivan netted to give the Royal Count a half time lead of 2-04 to Derry’s 1-06.
Just five minutes before the interval, Niall Loughlin watched as his shot came off the Meath bar.
And Heavron was on hand to make sure the Oakleafers grabbed the opportunity and finished off brilliantly and fired his shot into the net.
Points from Mark Lynch and James Kielt had the Oakleafers all square with the Royal County at Owenbeg up until 24 minutes.
But minutes later Donnacha Toibin made sure of his 45 to bring Meath level on 1-04 to Derry’s 0-6
It is Derry’s last home game of the Allianz National Football League and they will be hoping to capitalise on home advantage.
