StrabaneA FAMILY has appealed for information after their father was assaulted outside a pizza shop in Strabane last night.

Martin McDonagh said the incident happened around midnight last night, Friday, March 18, outside Paolo’s pizza in Abercorn Square.

He posted on Facebook: “My da was jumped by 4 lads outside Paolos in Strabane.

“They might have jumped into a taxi afterwards. It’s a small town, someone will know them, share this status and see how long they can hide.”

His page was flooded with messages of support.

It was later claimed that those who attacked his father were from Castlederg, with one reportedly speaking with an English accent.

One person told the family that a witness allegedly saw his father being “bottled” by the gang of four men.
