DERRY teenager and singing sensation SOAK has won the 2016 Choice Musice Prize for the Irish Album of the Year.

She picked up the award for her debut album Before We Forgot How to Dream.

Accepting the €10,000 prize from U2’s Adam Clayton on stage at Dublin’s Vicar Street last night, the 19-year-old said: “I genuinely didn’t see that coming at all.

“Thank you so much for this – this is genuinely unbelievable.

“I feel, like, class.”

SOAK – whose real name is Bridie Monds-Watson – is playing support this summer in Dublin to the Rolling Stones on July 9 at Marlay Park.
