Fire crews at the fomer Bobby Mullan Motors showroom in Ballykelly last night

A 17-year-old has been charged with arson, criminal damage and burglary.

It follows an overnight fire at the former Bobby Mullan car showroom in Ballykelly, County Londonderry.

The blaze was reported to police at about 8.30 pm night.

The youth is face Derry Magistrates court this morning for a first remand hearing.

Residents were advised to keep their windows shut while fire fighters attended the scene.

Four fire appliances were sent to the scene as smoke billowed into the air.

During the incident part of the Loughermore Rd was closed.

But there was no major disruption to traffic throughout the incident.
