MAN QUIZZED OVER BOGSIDE COCAINE SEIZURE

strand-road-polie-station-derry-google-1-1-400x240-20131121-132010-438-1DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have arrested a 35-year-old man for suspected drug dealing.

It follows the seizure of small quantities of cocaine and herbal cannabis at a flat in the Bogside area of Derry after a house search.

The man has arrested yesterday under the 1971 Misuse of Drugs Act.

He was detained on suspicion of possession of a class A drug, possession of a class B controlled drug, possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and possession of a class B with intent to supply.

Inspector Jonathan Hunter said the man was currently helping police with their enquiries at Strand Road PSNI station.

Said Insp Hunter added: “I would like to take this opportunity to remind the community to report any information in relation to drugs in their area to their local police station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
