ELDERLY MAN RESCUED AFTER FALLING INTO SHED INSPECTION PIT

FIRE crews helped rescue a 78 year old man after he had fallen into an inspection pit in a shed at a farm in south Derry.

The incident happed on the Mullagh Road outside Maghera in the early hours of Monday morning.

A Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “The man was initially treated by paramedics at the scene and when stabilised was removed by NIFRS personnel.

“He was transferred to hospital by ambulance.”
